Red kites - frequently spotted in Pembrokeshire now
Due to Family commitments this year we are unable to take guests but hope to welcome you in 2009.
Ailgynnau, our family home, was built to take advantage of the fabulous views towards the Cych and Teifi valleys. Ailgynnau has 3 double guest rooms, 2, en suite and one with private bath. Each is individually decorated with an ambiance of comfort and freshness in mind.
The Sun deck is the perfect place to have afternoon tea or a drink in the evening. You might just catch sight of a buzzard or red kite as well as the many delightful birds that frequent our garden.
Abercych is ideally situated for North Pembrokeshire. The spectacular coastline is only 15 minutes away as is the beautiful town of Newport with its stunning estuary, glorious beach and links golf course.
To the east is Cenarth falls on the river Teifi - ideal for river fishing and renowned for its Salmon and Sea Trout.
A little to the South West are the Preseli Mountains - fantastic for walking or pony trekking.
Cardigan is just 15 minutes away linking you to the beautiful Ceredigion coast line and in particular the beautiful sandy beach at Mwnt (NT).
Ailgynnau is the ideal location for those of you who like walk, cycle, ride or fish. We have a large utility area, where walking boots can be cleaned and dried and fishing rods, tackle and bait stored.
Pembrokeshire is a bird watchers paradise, from the Puffins on Skokholm to the RSPB sanctuary of Ramsey. Both can be reached from St Justinians at St David's, just 40 minutes drive from Abercych.
See the Great Grey Shrike along the northern stretch of the coastal path and listen to the shrill notes of the Stonechat as he serenades you along your coastal walk.
The Wildlife Sanctuary up the road at Cilgerran (see Attractions) offers the chance to see Otters, Peregrines and Merlins.
Ailgynnau offers a warm welcome, scrummy traditional welsh breakfast and other tasty treats. All rooms have Television, tea and coffee making facilities and the little extras just to make your stay truly memorable. Once you've visited Ailgynnau we know you'll want to return again and again!
Abercych is a small village, boasting two pubs within walking distance of Ailgynnau. Great for supper should you not wish to drive.
Alternatively, Cenarth is just two minutes drive away with several good places to eat lunch or dinner. There are many pubs and restaurants within the area that we would be happy to recommend (more details).
Although unlicensed we are happy to open your bottle of wine.
